- Key Takeaway: Ross Chastain and the No. 44 team contended for the victory in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250. Though he started deep in the field after qualifying 26th, Chastain quickly advanced through the running order. Thanks to the help of some fast pit stops and a great handling truck, Chastain put on a thrilling show up at the front of the pack. Despite nearly wrecking while battling for the lead, Chastain maintained control to set him up for a late-race dash. Unfortunately, his race would end abruptly after getting turned from the lead on a restart. Done for the day, Chastain finished 26th on the hauler.

- Ross Chastain's Post-Race Thoughts:

Interviewer: On the massive save in turn two.

Yeah, I let him get to my right rear to (turn) one and should have never let that happen. I just left him too much of a lane out there. And then he stalled me into (turn) one, so I ran wide open, and as he went by me, I was I was crashing. So, I’m glad he saved it, glad I saved it. It cut his left tire down, so I hate that for those guys. But yeah, I still don’t really know how I saved that.

Interviewer: Were you just a victim on the restart there?

Yeah, the push came really hard from behind. It felt like a couple trucks connected to come through the No. 15 (Tanner Gray) to me. I haven’t seen a great replay yet, but I definitely was getting pushed before the restart zone even started. I didn’t want to jump, and then I felt him get off of me, and I was like, ‘oh, darn it, I’m gonna be in the middle’, and then I got wrecked. So, yeah, I think it was just a lot of pushing and that’s what it takes to win CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races.
— ROSS CHASTAIN

Interviewer: Is part of that because they haven't raced trucks here in five years, or is this just the nature of truck racing?

No, that’s just bad-to-the-bone NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series racing. You push your lane; if my lane stays connected a little bit softer, we win the race. The No. 15 and I get to race it out. Instead, we’re split three wide and then get hooked by the top. Both lanes failed. We crashed first and they cleaned us up. No, it’s not anything about five years or anything, and that would have happened. Just pushing hard, good racing.
— ROSS CHASTAIN

Interviewer: Are you good with everything that happened?

I’m great. Well, my Niece Motorsports truck was fast, so, I’m good with that. We were able to drive up through the field a couple times, and yeah, I thought Kaden (Honeycutt) and I were really competitive. So, for Team Chevy, J.F. Electric, Precision, and DQS, it’s really what we want here this weekend to keep showing that we’re strong Chevy team.
