Ross Chastain to Pilot No. 38 at Texas Motor Speedway

STATESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 9, 2018) – NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) winner Ross Chastain will join Niece Motorsports for the second time this season, piloting the No. 38 Niece Equipment Chevrolet Silverado at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event on Friday, November 2.

In August, Chastain made his first start with Niece Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway.  The veteran racer turned in a solid performance in the No. 38 Chevrolet, qualifying 10th and finishing the night in 12th.

“I’m really looking forward to working with this Niece Motorsports team again,” said Chastain.  “I always have a lot of fun in the Truck Series and am excited to come back and race here any chance I get.  Texas is a big deal for team owner Al Niece, but I’m confident that we can put on a strong performance in November.”

The 2018 season has been a busy one for Chastain, who has competed in all three of NASCAR’s major series.  To date, Chastain has made 28 starts in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, 29 starts in the NXS, and five starts in the NCWTS this season.

In September, Chastain broke into the Winner’s Circle in the NXS, after putting on a dominating performance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, winning each stage of the race and leading 180 of 200 laps.

“We’ve seen what Ross is capable of this year, and I’m thrilled to have him behind the wheel of one of our trucks again,” said team owner Al Niece.  “Ross gives 100% every single lap he’s on the track, and that’s something that our team really appreciates.”

Niece Motorsports Technical Director Cody Efaw will serve as Chastain’s crew chief for the event.

The NCWTS takes the green flag at Texas Motor Speedway for the JAG Metals 350 on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET, broadcast live on FoxSports 1, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
