Self on Racing at Kansas: “I’ve always enjoyed Kansas,” said Self.  “It’s a fast mile-and-a-half track where handling is key, and speed is essential. The trucks like to dance a lot on the intermediate tracks, especially in the draft – but we’ve done a good job working on our speedway program this year, and I’m encouraged from our speed at Las Vegas that we’ll be equally competitive under the lights.”

Self at Kansas: This Friday at Kansas Speedway, Self returns to the site of his first race with Niece Motorsports.  Self has two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Kansas Speedway, with his best finish of 15th coming last season.

Recapping Dover: Self flexed his muscle early on in last Friday’s race at Dover International Speedway, moving into the top-10.  The No. 22 Don’t mess with Texas Chevrolet was ultimately credited with a 15th-place finish.

“Last weekend was another big learning experience for our team,” said Self.  “We struggled with the truck at times, but I was very happy with it at times as well. We were able to race up into the top-10 and bring the truck home in one piece.”

Mother’s Day:  Self’s No. 22 Don’t mess with Texas Chevrolet will carry the name of his mother, JoAnn Self, above the passenger-side window in honor of Sunday’s Mother’s Day Holiday.
