Bayley Currey has been one of Niece Motorsports’ longest-tenured drivers, entering 2025 for his seventh year with the organization. Currey joined the team initially on a part-time basis in 2019 but he eventually worked his way into landing a larger driving role.

Currey’s racing career started at the age of seven, in New Braunfels, Texas with help from his father, Marc, who competed at the regional division. A quick study, Currey would go on to win two Texas state championships in both Bandoleros and Legend cars.

As he came up through the ranks, Currey graduated to the Modifieds class and became the track champion at Central Texas Speedway in his rookie year of 2013. Progressing into Pro Late Models the following year, Currey backed up his success with another championship in the Viper PLM Series.

A pivotal moment in Currey’s career was realized in 2017, when he made his NASCAR national series debut during the Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Currey would go on to make a total of three starts that year, capturing his first top-10 in just his second-career start at Phoenix Raceway.

The following year in 2018, Currey bolstered his Truck Series schedule to coincide with his debut in the next rung of the ladder – the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Currey made a total of 26 starts between both series that year, picking up valuable experience at several different track types.

Making his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2019, Currey started 10 races throughout the year for Rick Ware Racing. He also ran part-time in the Xfinity Series, tallying 13 starts. Midway through the season, he joined forces with Niece Motorsports to make two NCTS starts, one of which resulted a sixth-place effort at Michigan International Speedway.

For the years that followed, Currey continued to claw his way into any opportunity that became available. From 2020-2021, he made a healthy amount of starts in all three national series including a handful of NCTS starts for Al Niece. Focusing primarily on the Xfinity Series for Mike Harmon Racing, Currey secured his best-career NXS finish with a seventh-place run at Phoenix Raceway in 2021.

The year 2022 saw Currey compete in his first full-time Xfinity Series season for JD Motorsports. That year, he earned one top-10 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Currey also made three truck starts driving the No. 44 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports in addition to his NXS duties.

In 2023, Currey drove in a part-time capacity with the No. 41 Chevrolet, splitting the year as the anchor driver in the team’s ‘All-Star’ truck. In only 11 starts that year, Currey excelled by capturing three top-fives and four top-10 finishes. He earned his best-career Truck Series race finish of fourth-place at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Last year was Currey’s first full-time season behind the wheel of the No. 41 Chevrolet Silverado, marking only his second full-time campaign in any of NASCAR’s national series. Currey’s year was highlighted with an eighth-place result at Kansas Speedway, knocking off seven top-15 results enroute to an 18th-place finish in the championship points standings.
