Austin Wayne Self celebrates one-year anniversary with new partner at Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Fresh off a strong top-15 finish this past weekend at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, Niece Motorsports driver Austin Wayne Self (@AustinWSelf) heads west to Kansas Speedway looking for his first top-10 finish of the season.Friday night’s 37 Kind Days 250 at Kansas celebrates the one-year anniversary of Self’s, a native of Austin, Texas, first time piloting a Niece Motorsports truck. The sixth race of the year also signifies the debut of a new partner aboard the team’s No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado for the second night race of the year.CForce Bottling Company founded in 2015, by Gena and American martial artist, actor, film producer and screenwriter Chuck Norris, will serve as a major partner at Kansas Speedway.CForce natural artesian water is bottled at the source. The Lone Wolf Spring, which supplies CForce’s pristine water, was discovered on the Norris family ranch in Navastoa, Tex. – adding another partner with Texas ties to Self’s team. The water is over 23,000 years old, dating back to the last ice age. The water filters through volcanic rock and is then deposited into a deep sustainable aquifer. Through an engineered delivery system, the water travels directly from the source to the bottling plant, so that it remains untouched until it is opened.“I’m very excited and proud to have this relationship with CForce Bottling Company,” said Self. “The Norris’s are amazing people and I’m glad to branch their product into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Niece Motorsports.“CForce tastes great and most of all, it keeps me plenty hydrated before and after a race. We had a good weekend at Dover and I’m hoping we can keep that momentum up at Kansas on Friday night.”Speaking of Kansas, the 22-year-old will make his third NCWTS start at the 1.5-mile speedway, and hopes to better a 15th-place finish earned with Niece Motorsports last Spring. In addition to the Truck Series, Self has two additional starts in an ARCA car from 2014-2015.“I’ve always enjoyed Kansas,” sounded Self. “It’s a fast mile-and-a-half track where handling is key and speed is essential. The trucks like to dance a lot on the intermediate tracks, especially in the draft – but we’ve done a good job working on our speedway program this year and I’m encouraged from our speed at Las Vegas – that we’ll be equally competitive under the lights.“The biggest thing we’ll have to combat on Friday is weather. We’ll practice and qualify during the day, but take the checkered flag at night. Luckily, Cody (Efaw), my crew chief is very knowledgeable when it comes to track transition and he should be able to keep our No. 22 Don’t’ mess with Texas | CForce Chevrolet tuned up with the track, which hopefully brings us a good finish.”Like last year, the Don’t mess with Texas campaign and AM Technical Solutions will also support Self in his 46th career start. The Don’t mess with Texas campaign is part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) litter prevention program, which includes Don’t mess with Texas, Adopt-a-Highway, and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful. For more than 30 years, Don’t mess with Texas has made tremendous progress educating Texans about the impact of littering on the state’s economy, environment and physical landscape. In 45 NCWTS races, the 2015 ARCA Racing Series rookie of the year has one top-five (second at Daytona 2017) and three top-10 finishes. The Texan maintains an average finish of 18.6 during his three years of competition. For more on Austin Wayne Self, like his Facebook page (Austin Wayne Self) or follow him on Twitter @AustinWSelf.For additional information on CForce premium artesian water, please visit cforce.com.For more on Niece Motorsports, please visit niecemotorsports.com.The 37 Kind Days 250 (200 laps | 200 miles) is the sixth of 23 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races on the 2018 schedule.
