Kyle Benjamin to Pilot the No. 45 Chevrolet in Seven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Races
STATESVILLE,N.C. (April 29, 2019) – Kyle Benjamin will pilot the No. 45Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports in seven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS)events during the 2019 season.
Benjamin’sfirst start with Niece Motorsports will come at the Series’ second visit toTexas Motor Speedway on June 7.
“Kylehas been successful in everything he’s run,” said General Manager CodyEfaw. “We are excited to have him onboard and are looking forward to running strong with Kyle and hopefullycontending for some wins.”
Benjamin’simpressive resume includes multiple wins in the ARCA Racing Series. In 23 starts, he earned three wins, threepoles, nine top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes.
“I’mexcited to get back to the Truck Series, especially with Niece Motorsports,”said Benjamin. “This team has had anincredibly strong start to the 2019 season, so I feel fortunate to continue tobuild on that momentum and hopefully put together some solid finishes.”
Bythe age of 19, the Easley, South Carolina native, had earned five wins in theNASCAR K&N Pro Series East, including three victories from the poleposition.
FollowingTexas Motor Speedway, Benjamin will return to action at Iowa Speedway, on June15, the site of one of his K&N victories.
Benjaminwill also take the wheel at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, PoconoRaceway, Michigan International Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and inthe season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The21-year-old driver has two NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts to his credit,both coming last season at Martinsville Speedway. He did not start outside of the top-five ineither event, earning two top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish inthe spring, and leading a combined total of 80 laps.
Additionally,Benjamin has eight starts under his belt in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, comingin 2017 and 2018. In those eight starts,Benjamin earned two poles; qualifying in the top-10 in seven races and in thetop-12 for all eight. He earned twotop-five and three top-10 finishes in those eight starts and led multiple lapsin half of those starts.
TheNASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series will take the green flag from Texas MotorSpeedway on Friday, June 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
